Wirehive 100 2018 - Complete!
Wow, well we certainly partied like it was 1929! We celebrated the seventh annual Wirehive 100 and what a night.
Every year our aim is to top the previous one, a challenge we set ourselves which is becoming increasingly more difficult! This year we also added five different categories including Most Emotionally Engaging Content and Agency for Good, these were to recognise the awesome work agencies do, by the very best in the industry.
On to the evening itself! We made our way to the O2 Guildhall, Southampton to the Wirehive 100 Speakeasy parlour where our guests had to ensure they had their finest glad rags on for a roaring twenties evening. On arrival they had to battle past the protesters from the prohibition party, and make sure they hadn’t forgotten their password. No password, no party! Next, they had to sneak through the Wirehive & Sons store to make their way into the Wirehive 100 Speakeasy parlour where they were greeted with a sparkling reception and the smooth sounds of jazz provided by the band.
After sitting down for a full three-course meal Rob Belgrave, CEO, welcomed everyone to the awards and introduced our compere for the evening, Ed Byrne, who warmed up the crowd with his hilarious stand-up routine before announcing the winners of the awards.
Of the 16 categories we crowned 12 different agencies with a good showing from agencies from the South West taking several wins. We also crowned a new Number One in the League Table, Sideshow. You can view all the judges and winner’s comments on the winner’s page.
Luckily the Wirehive 100 Speakeasy parlour wasn’t raided so we were able to continue the after-party into the small hours. The hooch continued to flow, and several members tried their luck at our casino tables, testing their Roulette and Blackjack skills against the croupiers.
As we all slowly recover from this year’s knees up we hope we’ve done you proud and once again, put on the best night in the digital calendar.
Don’t forget to complete your survey after the event, we want to know what the best bits from the evening were and you could also win another Gin filled evening, so watch out for our survey email.
